George Motz - Filmmaker, DP, Writer, TV Host and Hamburger Expert
Motz is a well-traveled Emmy award-winning freelance filmmaker and Director of Photography based in New York City. Over the past 20 years he has worked on many television commercials, feature films, music videos, documentaries, and promos.
In the spring of 2005 Motz completed Hamburger America, his second documentary film which he shot, produced, edited, and directed. The film was nominated in 2006 for a James Beard Foundation Award and won the Audience Choice Award at the 2009 Modesto Film Festival. The film's success led to a state-by-state guide to hamburgers, also titled Hamburger America, and an iPhone app called 'Burger GPS' The book was written by Motz, includes over 250 of his hamburger photos and is available at bookstores everywhere.
George is also the director of the NYC & Chicago Food Film Festivals, now in their 6th and 3rd years. They are multi-sensory film festivals where the audience is treated to the food they see on the screen. In addition, George also is the host of Travel Channel's Made In America and Burger Land which is based on his book Hamburger America. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, two children and a dog.
